Janell Weihs brings a rich blend of professional experience in education design and service, deeply understanding the critical role of learning environments in supporting teaching and learning. She is dedicated to improving education, believing that strong schools are fundamental to thriving communities.

Janell’s career began as a high school English teacher, driven by a passion for creating positive educational experiences for her students. After nearly a decade in the classroom, she transitioned to developing curriculum and programs that utilized daily newspapers as educational tools, broadening her perspective on the K-12 experience across various school districts in Arizona.

For over two decades, Janell held a position with a professional association for educators, planners, and designers of school facilities. Here, she gained insights into the significant impact of physical environments on educational experiences, working alongside leading experts in the field. Her role involved developing instructional programs on capital planning, programming, and design, emphasizing the importance of well-designed school facilities.

Throughout her career, Janell has consistently demonstrated her commitment to working with school districts to ensure all students have access to safe, healthy environments that support and facilitate effective teaching and learning, and we are honored to have her join the BrainSpaces team!
